Harvest Haven: A Stardew Valley Tale

Happy Monday Toonsters!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. My blog post today is going to be fairly short as I've had a busy day and quite tired- but I'm sticking to my challenge so I am making a post anyway! I just wanted to say that I finally found a new video game that is scratching that itch I've been searching for in a new gaming adventure. I've been jumping around to a few games, such as GTA on Steam, which involves lots of loading and setting up for a long game session- There's Animal Crossing, which I feel like I'm at a crossroads of sorts as I feel "maxxed out" (Of course there's always things to do, I've just been getting a bit bored with it lately), and Terraria/Starbound for adventures and mining, but lately I've been yearning for something brand new and different. I've seen Stardew Valley popping up here and there, but never gave it much thought- it was just something in the background. Well, last week I was on the hunt in the Nintendo Switch store, and came across this one. For less than $20, I thought, eh what the heck? Let me give it a go.

I've already logged close to a day in gameplay in the course of a week haha!

I love it a lot so far! It has the Animal Crossing vibes with villager and farming, but goes way deeper into the farming aspects. There's gathering, fishing, and interacting with all the characters. There's lots of unique characters and story that I'm following (I'm on Winter Year One right now). I also love the adventures and mining, similar to Terraria. I've also been finding out you can "romance" and even marry some of the villagers!

So far it's been a lot of fun and quite addicting. I say if you're looking for a fun new game with cozy vibes, farming, mining, crafting and building, give this one a go! Not only is it interesting, it's very satisfying, not to mention nostalgic with the pixel art!

I've played both handheld on my Switch and on the big screen- both excellent ways to play. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get some hardwood so I can finally build a stable and get a horse!

Blue Skies! Enjoy the Chaos & Stay TOONed!
